Everything happens in the spectators hands
The only thing that the performer does is count the peaces one by one into the spectators hand, everything else is done by the spectator. As soon as they close their hand around the torn peaces your done and dusted... They can even keep the card as a souvenir!
This can be applied to any card from any deck of cards
